Meet the Team

WIll Crosse

William Crosse has spent over two decades working across Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America. His work with organizations, communities, and the private sector bridges landscape-level strategies, biodiversity conservation, and markets. He has developed science-based monitoring and adaptive management frameworks for nature-based solutions with the Rainforest Alliance and Conservation International, and designed value chain strategies that connect smallholder producers to markets while maintaining social and environmental integrity. As Vice President of Impacts at Everland, Will led project due diligence and REDD+ portfolio reporting, and co-developed a voluntary carbon market standard that channels finance directly to Indigenous Peoples and local communities (Equitable Earth). His approach is grounded in systems thinking, equity, and practical field implementation.

Will holds a MSc. in Oceanography from the University of Southampton and is based in Nairobi.

Jessi Grillo

The ecological, social, and economic crises of our time aren't three separate problems — they're one, seen from different vantage points. That thread has shaped over twenty years of Jessi Grillo's work across 30 countries, with farmers, communities, corporations, and governments. It runs through a career that includes leading climate-related livelihood risk modeling and disaster intelligence for USAID's Famine Early Warning System; integrated landscape and sustainable sourcing programs with the Rainforest Alliance; and co-designing a community-led carbon standard for Equitable Earth that channels finance directly to forest communities. She has advised more than 20 multinational companies — not just on what to commit to, but on how to make those commitments real across complex supply chains. Jessi specializes in translating technical and policy complexity into strategies that are both credible and equitable.

Jessi holds a Master's Degree in International Development from Clark University, Department of Sustainability and Social Justice.
